Originally from Bulgaria, A.V. Osten moved to the USA in late 2008.
Born and raised in a family of teachers, she has graduated Literature and Bulgarian Language from the University of Plovdiv and later worked as a radio host, reporter/editor for a regional newspaper, and an English teacher in her country.
In the USA she started writing middle-grade fantasy novels while working as a movie extra, restaurant and retail employee, interpreter for various translations agencies, and evaluator of students’ tests. She is also a contributor and proofreader for the Bulgarians in Detroit electronic newspaper.
While the middle-grade novels still haven’t seen the light of the day, Hemisphere 1 is the last work written and the first to be published.
When she runs out of words, A.V. turns to painting. She loves splashing acrylics on a canvas, as well as experimenting with different techniques and media. She currently lives in Michigan with her husband, daughter, and three feline beasts.
